Bulk chocolate products can be sensitive to heat, moisture and handling. Packaging selection should account for the product format, factory receiving process, transport route and storage capability of the buyer.

Define the receiving process

Will the buyer load the product directly into a hopper, split bags into smaller batches or store sealed containers? The chosen pack should be practical for receiving, traceability and dispensing while protecting the product during transport.

Agree the storage conditions

Clarify the recommended temperature range, humidity control, stacking limits and shelf-life statement. Avoid leaving chocolate in hot vehicles or warehouses without confirmed ventilation and temperature control.

Prepare the document checklist

  • Approved product specification and pack size
  • Commercial invoice, packing list and transport documents
  • Certificate of analysis requirements
  • Ingredient and allergen information
  • Certification or registration documents required by the destination
  • Labeling and language review
Regulatory and certification requirements vary by destination and can change. Confirm the exact market, HS code and product use before shipping.

Test the full delivery plan

For a first shipment, align production, sampling, pre-shipment inspection and document approval in one timeline. Confirm who is responsible for import clearance and what happens if transport temperatures exceed the agreed range.
